CHALLENGING AND REWARDING best describes the PADI Rescue Diver course.

This course will expand your knowledge and experience level. Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves and consider the safety and well being of other divers. This, in turn, helps them to recognise similar issues within themselves. Although this course is challenging, it is a rewarding way to build your confidence. Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. Many divers say this is the best course they’ve ever taken.

You must:

Be a PADI Adventure Diver (or qualifying certification from other training organisation). Be 12 years old. Have a First Aid and CPR training certification from Emergency First Response, DAN or other qualifying organisation no older that 12 months.


You will cover:

  • Self-rescue and diver stress
  • Emergency management
  • Equipment issues
  • Panicked diver response
  • In-water rescue breathing protocols
  • Egress (exits)
  • Dive accident scenarios
  • Present a local emergency plan


You will do 2 knowledge development sessions, a confined water session (swimming pool), spend a day at the beach and 1 boat dive (optional at no extra cost).

Course Fee:
AUD$495.00. An AUD$100 deposit will secure your place on the course, with the balance due on the first day. You will be provided with your Rescue Diver crew pack, air fills, wall certificate and certification card. 

Equipment Requirement:
Full SCUBA, SMB (surface marker buoy).
Recommended:
Gloves, knife, pocket mask, first aid kit.

Note:
*please note that it is recommended that you purchase your own equipment at this level of training. Equipment may be hired from Adelaide Scuba at a cost of AUD$75.00 for the course.
