Wreck Diving
Designed as an introduction to wreck diving, the PADI Wreck Diver course helps divers develop the necessary skills, knowledge and techniques to safely participate in wreck diving.
Requirements: Be a PADI Adventure Diver (or qualifying certification from other organisation) Be 15 years old. You will: - Learn wreck dive planning, organisation, procedures, techniques and hazards of wreck diving including emergency procedures.
- Practical training workshop developing fundamental buoyancy, trim and propulsion techniques in the comfort of the swimming pool.
- Complete 4 open water dives that teach you to recognise hidden dangers, wreck mapping, reel use and wreck penetration.
- Gain experience with wreck diving under the direct, professional supervision of a PADI instructor.
- Your Wreck Diver certification will count towards your PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.
You will complete 4 open water dives, 1 pool session and 2 knowledge development session.
Optional: Introduction to twin cylinder systems and stage/pony bottle use. Course Fee: AUD$525.00. A AUD$100 deposit will secure your place on the course, with the balance due on the first day. You will be provided with your wreck diver specialty manual & DVD, air fills, boat dives, wall certificate and certification card.
Equipment Requirement: Full SCUBA, gloves, primary and back up lights, reel, u/w slate.
Recommended: SMB (safety marker buoy).
Cool Toys: Twin cylinder system, Deco cylinder (nitrox clean) with regulator, canister HID light.
Note: It is recommended that you purchase your own equipment at this level of training. Equipment may be hired from Adelaide Scuba at a cost of AUD$75.00 for the course.**On courses with boat dives, it is an Adelaide Scuba requirement that you carry an SMB (safety marker buoy). |
