Instructor Training
Once you have made the decision to develop the professional side of your diving by completing the Divemaster Program, you may decide to become an instructor in PADI. PADI instructors are required to meet the dive industry’s highest instructor training standards. You Must: Course Details: The full Instructor development Course (IDC) duration is 9 days full time (plus self study), or 6 days for IDC part 2 only. Part time IDC’s are also available from time to time.
The course includes:
- Pre-assessment activities to review your diving knowledge and skills;
- 14 self study reading assignments 16 knowledge reviews to complete.
- The curriculum is extremely varied and involves lectures (with an accompanying program workbook);
- workshop/discussions;
- and practice teaching sessions in the classroom, pool and open water.
Successful completion of the IDC part 2 enables you to attend the Instructor Examinations (IE) independently conducted by a PADI Examiner over 2 days.
Course Fee: The IDC requires an investment of $3350 per student. A $500 deposit will secure your place on the course, with the balance due at the start of the course.

The Best of the Undersea Journal and The Law And The Diving Professional, The Business of Diving, Peak Performance Buoyancy and Project AWARE Instructor outlines, Confined and Open Water training and lesson slates. Required Equipment: Complete open water diving equipment including mask, fins, snorkel, wetsuit, BCD, regulator & gauges, alternate air source, compass, knife, slate and timing device. PADI Instructor Manual, Open Water Diver, Adventures in Diving, Rescue and Divemaster manuals.
