PADI Open Water Diver

For a limited time only.

Pre-requisites: Minimum Age: 14 years. Students under 15 years may qualify as a Junior PADI Open Water Diver and can upgrade when they reach 15 years of age. Medical Certificate: Please ask an Adelaide Scuba staff member for further information on organising you're dive medical with our on-site SPUMS diving doctor, this can be arranged prior to the orientation evening. Alternatively we can get you a list of other dive doctors in South Australia to find one close to you. During your course you will be required to make a 200m swim or 300m mask, snorkel, fin swim and a 10 minute tread water.

Course Outline:

First Weekend:

Friday evening introductory/orientation session and knowledge development (modules 1).
Saturday morning: knowledge development (modules 2 & 3).
Saturday afternoon: learn to dive in our on-site heated swimming pool.
Sunday: 2 open water dives at one of Adelaide's premier reef systems.

Second Weekend:

Saturday morning: knowledge development (final modules 4 & 5).
Saturday afternoon: learn to dive in our on-site heated swimming pool.
Sunday: 2 boat dives onboard one of 3 purpose built dive boats moored at our back door.
Certification Celebration! Congratulations, you are now a PADI Open Water Scuba Diver.
Sometime later: optional post course boat dive ($45) with your Instructor or Divemaster including FREE equipment hire.

Course Fee:
AUD$699. A deposit of AUD$100 will secure your place on the course and entitle you to collect your training materials. The balance will be due on the first Saturday. You will be provided with your PADI Open Water Diver manual, Recreational Dive Planner tables, log book and satchel. Also included in your course will be your SCUBA equipment, instructor fees, air fills, 2 boat dives, certification card and wall certificate.

EXTRA EXTRA... Adelaide Scuba is also offering our newly certified divers an oppurtunity to get back into the water after completion of the PADI Open Water Diver course, with a complimentary 'Buoyancy, Trim and Propulsion Techniques Workshop'. These workshops are held every couple of weeks at our dive centre in Glenelg under the direct guidance of one of our highly experienced dive professionals. This valuable session will improve your diving ability and ensure you are comfortable during your new found hobby. Building on the fundamental skills learnt during the Open Water course, this is a must for all new scuba divers.
