Underwater Navigation
This course provides divers with the necessary skills to navigate underwater, whether they are using a compass or not. Underwater navigator is a challenging course designed to boost confidence in divers, both within themselves and with their compass!
You must: be a PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from other organisation) Be 12 years old You will practice navigation patterns, using the natural environment and a compass You will follow irregular patterns using the Nav-Finder Dive site relocation Gain experience with underwater navigation under the professional supervision of a PADI instructor Your Underwater Navigator certification will count towards your PADI Master Scuba Diver rating
You will do 3 open water dives, land drills and a knowledge development session. Course Fee: $395.00. A $100 deposit will secure your place on the course, with the balance due on the first day. You will be provided with your Deep Diver manual & video, air fills, wall certificate and certification card.
Equipment Requirement: Full SCUBA, u/w slate, compass, PADI Nav-Finder
Recommended: SMB (surface marker buoy), knife
Note: It is recommended that you purchase your own equipment at this level of training. Equipment may be hired from Adelaide Scuba at a cost of $75.00 for the course.
