Underwater Videography

The PADI Underwater Videographer Specialty course introduces you to underwater video equipment and videography fundamentals, such as exposure, focus, shot types, moves, story line and shot sequencing. It takes you through the post-dive editing process where you take your raw footage and create an underwater masterpiece. By the time you complete the course, you'll have gone through the entire basic video production process.

Must be:
a PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organisation)
Be 12 years old

You will:

  • have an equipment overview and discuss selection and maintenance
  • Be creative with story planning and organisation
  • Practice shot sequencing
  • Undertake basic editing
  • Your Underwater Videographer certification will count towards your PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.

You will do 3 open water dives and 2 knowledge development sessions.

Course Fee:
AUD$395.00. A AUD$100 deposit will secure your place on the course, with the balance due on the first day. You will be provided with your air fills, wall certificate and certification card.

Equipment Requirements:
Full SCUBA, gloves, u/w slate

Recommended:
A video camera and underwater housing

Cool Toys:
Pinnacle or Ulead video editing software for your PC or Mac

You may hire a camera and housing if you do not already own one for $99.00

*please note that it is recommended that you purchase your own equipment at this level of training. Equipment may be hired from Adelaide Scuba at a cost of $75.00 for the course.
