Drift Diving
The PADI Drift Diver course introduces you to diving in strong currents with confidence and the techniques for entering and exiting the water and staying with your buddy! Must be: a PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver (or have a qualifying certification from another training organisation) Be 12 years old You will: Learn about the planning, organisation, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of drift diving Be introduced to drift diving equipment: floats, lines, reels Practice buoyancy control, navigation and communication for drift diving and techniques for staying close to your buddy or group Have an overview of aquatic currents, their causes and effects and site selection
Your Drift Diver certification will count towards your PADI Master Scuba Diver rating. You will do 2 open water dives and a knowledge development session. Course Fee: AUD$395.00. A AUD$100 deposit will secure your place on the course, with the balance due on the first day. You will be provided with your boat dives, air fills, wall certificate and certification card. Equipment Requirement: Full SCUBA, SMB (safety sausage), finger spool, scuba alert or whistle Recommended: Gloves *please note that it is recommended that you purchase your own equipment at this level of training.
