Underwater Naturalist
In your journey to Underwater Naturalist, you will learn about the different major aquatic life groupings and how they interact so that you understand the underwater environment. With the PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty course under your belt, your view of the aquatic world will change. You will no longer see just 'fish', but individual species with distinct strategies for surviving in a complex, interactive ecosystem. Must be: a PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another organisation) Be 12 years old You will: Complete an overview of aquatic life groupings and interrelations Study the role of aquatic plants, food chains and predator prey relationships Understand responsible interactions with aquatic life Your Underwater Naturalist certification will count towards your PADI Master Scuba Diver rating. You will do 2 open water dives and a knowledge development session. Course Fee: AUD$395.00. A AUD$100 deposit will secure your place in the course, with the balance due on the first day. You will be provided with your air fills, wall certificate and certification card. Your instructor will provide you with a booklet. Equipment Requirements: Full SCUBA, gloves, u/w slate Recommended: Fish ID slate *please note that it is recommended that you purchase your own equipment at this level of training. Equipment may be hired from Adelaide Scuba at a cost of AUD$75.00 for the course.
