Search and Recovery Diving

The PADI Search and Recovery Diver Specialty course provides you with the skills necessary to search for lost objects underwater, and equips you with the knowledge and practice you need to safely and easily get larger items to the surface.

Must be:
A PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or a PADI Open Water Diver with the PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty (or equivalent certification from another organisation)
Be 12 years old

You will:

• Cover dive planning, organisation, procedures, techniques and dealing with potential problems
• Practice search patterns, lift bag use and recovery methods
• Limited visibility techniques and navigation for search and recovery
• Gain experience with search & recovery diving under the direct, professional supervision of a PADI instructor
• Your Search & Recovery Diver certification will count towards your PADI Master Scuba Diver rating

You will do 4 open water dives and 1 knowledge development session.

Course Fee:
AUD$395.00. A AUD$100 deposit will secure your place on the course, with the balance due on the first day. You will be provided with your PADI Search & Recovery Diver manual & DVD, air fills, 2 boat dives, wall certificate and certification card.

Equipment Requirements:
Full SCUBA, X capacity lift bag, reel, u/w slate

Recommended:
Gloves

*please note that it is recommended that you purchase your own equipment at this level of training. Equipment may be hired from Adelaide Scuba at a cost of AUD$75.00 for the course.
**On courses with boat dives, it is an Adelaide Scuba requirement that you carry an SMB
