How would you like to extend the possibilities of your SCUBA experience? Come home after a dive and have an increased energy level and feel just that little better? If YES is the answer, then the PADI Enriched Air Nitrox course is for you. Adelaide Scuba are the Nitrox experts in South Australia, we use the latest technology and can teach you what you need to know to use enriched air safely and confidently.
PADI’s most popular specialty diver program, the Enriched Air Nitrox course teaches you the skills and knowledge of diving with gases that have an increased amount of Oxygen than in air. Breathing Enriched Air Nitrox helps you get more out of your diving experience by extending your no decompression limits whilst receiving the physiological benefits of breathing higher levels of Oxygen.
What is Enriched Air Nitrox?
EANx otherwise known as Nitrox is a gas containing a higher percentage of Oxygen than in air. Air contains 21% of Oxygen and with recreational EANx you would learn to dive with gases containing up to a 40% maximum. The benefits of breathing these gases during a dive truly are impressive, firstly your allowable bottom times can be increased due to the reduction of nitrogen absorbed during the dive, and secondly, the physical benefits make diving that much easier with increased energy levels and less post dive fatigue.
The EANx course is conducted over one evening & includes a knowledge development (theory) workshop, DVD presentation & practical gas understanding workshop including the introduction to Nitrox generation systems (Oxygen Membrane).
We also offer an optional addition of a post course ocean dive so you can put your new skills into practice, incorporate gas management activities and pre dive planning with guidance from your PADI Nitrox Instructor.
During the Enriched Air Nitrox course you will:
- Learn about the fundamentals of mixed gas diving
- Learn the characteristics of Enriched Air Nitrox
- Plan EANx dives using dive tables and dive computers
- Learn to analyse cylinder contents, calculate maximum operating depths and oxygen exposure limits
- Safely increase your no stop time whilst gaining the physiological benefits of increased oxygen
Your Enriched Air Diver certification will count towards your PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.
