Explore Truk Lagoon with Adelaide Scuba in May 2017
That’s right we are heading back to Truk to Explore more of the area and discover more underwater treasures. Join us on our Third trip to the micronesia destination where we will enjoy wreck diving as far as the visibility can see!
Where is it??
Chuuk Atoll, (also Known as Truk) in the Caroline Islands is infamous for its giant lagoon. The lagoon is the final resting place for more than 100 ships, planes and submarines – the legacy of a fierce World War II battle between the Imperial Japanese Fleet and Allied carrier planes. The lagoon has been declared an underwater museum. Souvenir taking of relics from the area are prohibited by law.
Nowhere else in the world are there so many wrecks in close proximity, situated in shallow clear water. Many of the wrecks are visible while snorkelling and there are many on-shore wartime locations to visit.
How are we getting there?
– We will be offerring two different flight route alternatives, one departing on May 8th and travelling via Hong Kong/Guam (this will give travellers the opportunity to depart from Adelaide & travel more directly with less fly time as well as stay two nights in Guam).
– The other trip will depart on the 10th of May and fly ex Brisbane (you can arrange your own domestic flights/use frequent flyer points)
then travel to Truk via Port Moresby and Pohnpei.
Both trips will arrive in Truk at a similar time and the Diving schedule will be aligned with a 10 day/18 dive & accomodation package with Blue Lagoon Resort.
As always we don’t just run with the generic dive package, our dive sites, schedules are and dive groups are hand picked based on varying certifications and experience levels. Personal diving needs including mixed gas, training, gear hire (stages, twins ect.) will be arranged on an individual basis by our team.
